Casa Briteiros is situated in a serene and green environment in Northern Portugal. This is a wonderful environment to escape to and enjoy a relaxing holiday. In this region, you will find many historical villages between the green valleys. The nearest city is Braga (15 km), a beautiful old city with many religious buildings and rich architecture. This historical city also offers many shops and delicious restaurants.  Or drive to Guimarães (15 km), the birthplace of Afonso Henriques, the man who crowned himself the first king of Portugal. Stroll through the medieval streets and visit the castle or palace. 

Nature lovers can indulge themselves in the Peneda Gerês National Park (33 km), a national park with waterfalls, thermal springs and authentic villages. The park has a maximum altitude of over 1500 metres and therefore also guarantees beautiful views. You can also reach Albufeira do Ermal (28 km) in just under 40 minutes by car, a lake around which several beaches have been built and where you can walk, swim and practice water sports.

If you do not mind driving a little further, you can also visit Porto (66 km), the second largest city in Portugal. This city is located at the river Douro and offers all facilities for a nice day trip. For a day on the coast, drive to Póvoa de Varzim (59 km) or the coastal village of Esposende (55 km).
